From scenic countryside lanes to safe, flat, traffic-free paths. So why not hire or dust off your bikes and get exploring? We\u2019ve put together a list of our favourite trails and top recommendations for your next two-wheeled adventure.<\/p><p>Most of the routes mentioned below avoid busy roads and there\u2019s some great options for little legs or nervous riders. Many have nearby parking and facilities, so you\u2019re never too far from toilets or a well needed sit down in a cafe.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2fa3593 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2fa3593\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Family friendly routes<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-df2a4a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"df2a4a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The New Forest has loads of cycling paths to explore, a family favourite is the <strong>Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst loop<\/strong>, here you can expect to cycle through postcard villages and spot beautiful seasonal flowers and even say hello to friendly local natives (cows, ponies and horses). One of the most popular tracks has to be the <strong>Brockenhurst to Beaulieu loop<\/strong>, a well surfaced, flat cycle path, perfect for the whole family. Other popular cycling routes in The New Forest include <strong>Burley Hill Fort Loop<\/strong>, <strong>Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst Loop<\/strong>, the <strong>Hawkhill Trail<\/strong> and the <strong>Old Railway Cycle Route<\/strong> perfect for wildlife spotting and picnics.<\/p><p>Or go for a cycle alongside the beautiful <strong>Southsea coastline<\/strong> and enjoy lots of ice cream stops along the way. This completely flat coastal path is perfect for an afternoon adventure. Not far from the <strong>Canoe Lake Playground<\/strong> and the <strong>South Parade Pier<\/strong>, why not stop off for some extra fun\u2026 and some chips!<\/p><p>Stretching from West Meon to Wickham, <strong>Meon Valley trail<\/strong> is another fantastic route which offers scenic views through the South Downs National Park, with mostly flat, wide paths; it&#8217;s an ideal route for confident young riders. Packed with loads of places to stop, snack and hydrate. A firm favourite with local riders along the Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst loop is <strong>The Bakehouse<\/strong>. You can find rustic sourdough, freshly baked pastries and great coffee. They also have outdoor seating and places to park your bikes. Our top pick has to be the almond croissant or the sausage roll &#8211; yum! Or why not pick up a coffee and a treat at <strong>The Sett<\/strong> in Lyndhurst, on your route through The New Forest. They have amazing vegan treats and specialty coffee on the menu. Whilst you\u2019re in Meon Valley, we recommend <strong>The Beech Cafe<\/strong> in Queen Elizabeth&#8217;s Country Park, perfect for cyclists riding through the South Downs.
