Headlands Farm offers families a magical Christmas experience year after year and this year is no different, their 2025 season starts on 28th November. Families can choose to cut their own Nordmann, Norway or Blue Spruce trees or you can even rent a tree in a pot, which you return after Christmas. This is a great, cheaper and more sustainable alternative. There is a hidden winter woodland play area for little ones to burn off extra energy and there is even an area for food and drink, and those much needed coffees. This farm has their own sustainability policy which is really lovely and refreshing to see. They promise for every tree cut down; they will plant two new saplings. With its family welcoming atmosphere and community spirit, this farm is where Christmas really starts to feel alive.
A trip to a Christmas tree farm is always a great family adventure and a little preparation can go a long way. The fields can get muddy, so remember to dress warm and bring your wellies. Remember to pack a tape measure so you don’t bring a tree home that is far too tall for your lounge. It is also worth arriving early, especially at weekends. Don’t forget the rope to secure the tree to your car or a blanket to protect your boot. Always bring snacks too, though most of the farms mentioned have refreshment stalls, it can be cheaper to pack snacks and save queuing time. It can also be helpful to bring your own reusable cup to reduce the use of plastic, this can even save a few pennies on your drink too. Most importantly, enjoy it. Make the most of wandering the farm and take in the beautiful, fresh pine scent.
Don’t forget our brand new addition to our Busy activity books is here, our Busy Elf Book. These are great for the journey to one of these farms or if you just need some extra help when out and about this season. Order yours by clicking here, but be quick while stocks last.
